No. Chiropractors are primary health practitioners so private patients do not need a referral to see us.

If you already have a claim number please bring this and details of your insurer to your initial appointment.

You are totally entitled to choose your own therapist! Simply bring the referral in with you to your first session and we will liaise with the referring doctor to inform them that you have commenced treatment with us.

Yes, and ON THE SPOT!

Bring your health fund card with you to your consultation as we have HICAPS which enables your rebate to be paid on the spot – saving you a trip to the health fund.

Not generally, however, there is a government initiative called the Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) Program. This allows someone with chronic pain or a chronic condition to have five (5) chiropractic (or other approved allied health service) consultations a year when referred by their doctor. A Medicare rebate covers some (but not all) of the treatment. Please speak to your GP or ring to see if you might be eligible.

If you’re asking yourself this question, let us be the ones to answer that for you! We are happy to speak with you prior to you booking an appointment to answer any questions you may have regarding the type of treatment we provide

It is advisable to bring along any x-rays and scan results that you may already have had taken, a pair of shorts if the injury is to a body part that is under normal clothing, and your private health fund card (if you are a member).

For most people, once the injury has healed or the health complaint improved no ongoing treatment is required. However we live in a less than ideal world. Our lives are often either sedentary or the complete opposite; there are physical and emotional demands that exceed our body’s capacity. Therefore a ‘tune up’ or ‘check up’ can assist in maintaining good health. There is no obligation for ongoing treatment.

There is no set answer as every person is different and every complaint presents slightly differently. Your therapist will develop a treatment plan aimed to reduce pain, improve mobility, provide education and give advice on reducing aggravating factors and improve overall health and well-being. They will discuss this with you and provide you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

For more chronic conditions, complex injuries or where pre-existing health issues determine a slower healing time, perhaps more treatment will be required.

Improvement timelines vary depending on the condition, individual factors, and adherence to the treatment plan. Consistency and following your therapist’s advice can expedite progress.

The initial assessment involves discussing your medical history, current symptoms, performing physical tests, and developing a treatment plan tailored to your needs.

It’s normal to experience some discomfort during or after certain treatments or exercises. However, if pain is severe or persistent, it’s essential to inform the physiotherapist for adjustments to the plan.

Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy movement and access to the area being treated. Sometimes, you might be asked to change into specific attire, so it’s good to inquire beforehand.
